OUR PROGRAMS

The Children’s Shelter provides a variety of services designed to strengthen families and individuals who are experiencing major changes. Our flagship program provides temporary, residential group care to children ages 10-18 who are placed with us as a result of court involvement due to abuse, neglect or law enforcement. We believe that children are best served by keeping families together and safe, so dedicate much of our effort to preservation and prevention work.

RESIDENTIAL

GROUP CARE

The Lawrence Children’s Shelter runs two residential group homes for youth ages 10 to 17. We serve up to 28 youth at any given time  Most of our youth are in foster care due to abuse and neglect and come to us via referral from the state child welfare contractors. Some youth stay several years while some stay only a few days.
